Writing is hard and requires lots of work and vigilance. Below are some thoughts on the writing process:

Paper Editing Checklist

  • Check all the citations for correctness and consistency.
    • All arxiv/preprint papers should be checked to ensure they have not been published.
    • Either all papers need doi, or no papers should have doi.
    • Decide whether you want a URL in your citation (look to other papers in the publication for guidance).
    • Ensure all venues are consistent (i.e. use either ICML or International Conference of Machine Learning, not both). Make consistent for all venues (i.e. either ICML and NeurIPS or International Conference of Machine Learning and Neural Information Processing systems).
  • Ensure figures are of high quality and the captions provide all relevant information. Figures should be self-contained (i.e. you should get enough information from captions to determine what is being showed, but the analysis can be in the main text).
  • Follow a reproducibility checklist to ensure you have all the relevant
